Professor Carissa Byrne Hessick discusses sentencing policy on KJZZ
01/18/2012
Professor
Carissa Byrne Hessick
was a guest on KJZZ’s “Here and Now” with Pinal County Attorney Jim
Carissa Bryne Hessick
Walsh on Jan. 11 to discuss a new report on sentencing policy in Arizona.
Hessick believes that truth-in-sentencing hasn’t reduced crime in all type of defendants, while, Walsh argued that Arizona is a safer place as a result of it. Hessick also said there was some important information that wasn’t included in the report, and it “over-claims in a number of areas.”
