Karin quoted in the Arizona Republic

recently was quoted in an April 27 article in the Arizona Republic, “Shelter in Phoenix for homeless female veterans fills need,” by reporter Christina Silvestri.
The article looked at how female veterans without homes are often overlooked by charitable foundations. The MANA House (Marines, Army, Navy and Air Force) aims to change that.
“Experiencing homelessness is very much tied to whether you have economic security,” Karin said, in the article. “I would say that the No. 1 thing employers can do is communicate especially with their employees who are veterans about what their needs are.”

Karin is director of the Work-Life Policy Unit and Civil Justice Clinic at the College of Law. Her research interests include legislative lawyering, civil justice for military families and women’s legal history.
