Professor Jonathan Rose, an Emeritus Professor of Law, was recently appointed to the Arizona State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
The Civil Rights Act of 1957 created the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. It's mission is to inform the development of national civil rights policy and enhance enforcement of federal civil rights laws. The Commission maintains 51 State Advisory Committees, which are composed of citizen volunteers familiar with local and state civil rights issues.
Rose, who joined the faculty at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law in 1968, and was an Associate Dean from 1987-90, teaches Legal History, Antitrust, Contracts and Legal Ethics, and has received numerous teaching awards. he also is a Faculty Affiliate of the Arizona Center for Medieval & Renaissance Studies at ASU. He is the author of numerous articles on legal history, antitrust, economic and occupational regulation, and legal ethics.
