A note from the President of the Alumni Association

Danelle Kelling

On behalf of the Alumni Association, I would like to thank all who attended the ASU Homecoming events sponsored by the College of Law during the Homecoming Weekend. There were a series of successful events, and the support and participation of alumni was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately for the ASU football fans, the game itself did not end on such a positive note. (At least the team ended the regular season on a high note by beating that other Arizona team!).

The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law Alumni Association’s Annual Luncheon will be held on Feb. 12, 2013, at the downtown Hyatt Regency, and will feature the distinguished Ambassador Barbara Barrett. This event is a great opportunity to come together to reconnect with old classmates and friends, hear the latest information on the events and successes of the law school, and honor distinguished alumni, students and faculty. The Alumni Association is honored to have Ambassador Barrett as the keynote speaker. Ambassador Barrett has had a distinguished and accomplished legal, civic, diplomatic, and executive career since graduating from the law school. We hope that you will consider attending and supporting this great event.

At the Annual Luncheon, the Association will elect new board members. If you are interested in serving as a board member or in any role, please let me know. We hope to continue to expand the Association’s support of the law school, alumni and related initiatives, and additional support of alumni is the only way we can achieve these goals. Please contact me if you are interested at dkelling@stinson.com.

Finally, the Alumni Association and Dean Sylvester continue to work together in finding new ways to honor and celebrate in the success of Alumni. Our intent is to help celebrate alumni who serve as a model in the community, the profession and whose general contributions to society reflect positively on the law school and alumni. Whether an opposing counsel whose professionalism exceeded your expectations in the adversarial relationship we often experience, a friend, colleague or someone you know only by reputation, if you know of anyone deserving of such recognition please let us know.

Happy Holidays and hope 2013 is bright and merry!
