 Robert Miller

Professor Robert J. Miller was elected to membership in the American Philosophical Society, which is located in Philadelphia.

The APS is the oldest learned society in the United States and was created by Benjamin Franklin in 1743. Thomas Jefferson, for example, was the president of the APS for 17 years, even overlapping his time as U.S. President.

Only 5,506 members have ever been elected to the APS. These include Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, and Stephen Hawking.
